Visiting kaziranga during the peak season often ends as a sour experience for those who did not have the information regarding alternate options that provide accommodation. Although kaziranga is well equipped with an extensive chain of hotels, lodges, and resorts but it always helps to have that extra bit of information.
In case one is unable to find accommodation in any of the hotels, lodges or resorts the best option is to contact the forest authorities who provide tents and safe places where such tents can be set up. The forest department charges nominal fee for these tents. Cottages in and around the reserve are also provided by the forest authorities.

| Another option that one can look out for is PG accommodations in the city. One will need a local help for this purpose and this can be availed by contacting any of the hotel authorities. Most locals provide PG accommodation with the option of food. The only drawback with the type of accommodation is that one will have to set base camp in the city, far away from the national park. |
