The extensive network of roads & railways have made reaching kaziranga national park a pleasant and hassle-free experience. Though it is advisable to avoid visiting in the months of monsoon, the best time to visit kaziranga is from November to April.
The nearest airport is Jorhat-97 kms from kaziranga and Guwahati-217 kms from kaziranga.
National Highway 37 directly connects Jorhat & Guwahati. State transport as well as private operators are aplenty and can be easily located/hired from Guwahati, Jorhat and Furkating.

Those who prefer train travel, direct trains are available from Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai to reach Furkating, Jorhat and Guwahati. Furkating happens to be the nearest railhead to kaziranga, about 75 kms away.
If travelling from the place of origin to kaziranga it is advisable to carry a road map which has important cities and hotels displayed. Visiting kaziranga in the winters will require medium winter clothing and if visiting during summers, light cottons are advised.
