Kaziranga Wildlife Guide - A Bird-Eye-View of Kaziranga
The second major attraction of kaziranga wildlife guide is the Asiatic tiger. Also the national animal of India-the royal Bengal tiger is a majestic animal. Acute sensitivity, secretiveness, agility in attack, and the strength to overpower are the qualities necessary for a predator. The tiger possesses them all in extraordinary measure. The second biggest cat (only next to the Siberian tiger) measures 270-310 cm in length and can weight up to 220 kg.
Kaziranga wildlife park is a home for various migratory and local birds. Winters are the best season for birdwatching.
The Indian one-horned rhinoceros and the Asiatic tiger in particular and the park in general are now facing their greatest threats due to increase in human population, pollution from oil refineries adjoining the area and the massive land-grabbing by the tea plantations.
Indian wildlife authorities are now making a determined effort in rhino conservation. Translocation projects are under way.
